A few days ago, I asked a question on this list about why I wasn't seeing the
dc.publisher field appear on my custom submission process for a particular
collection. Conal Tuohy had the answer, in that this is one of the fields that
does not appear unless a particular checkbox is selected on the initial
submission screen. A similar explanation is available here (see the
"Automatically Elided Fields" section):

http://www.dspace.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=155

Basically, even if a dc.publisher field is added to your custom submission
process, you won't see an option to enter dc.publisher metadata unless a
checkbox in the initial screen is checked, signifying that the object has
already been published. A somewhat strange override, but OK, I get it.

This ties into another thing I noticed with my customized submission process:
I'm missing the checkbox you see on the default submission process that states
"The item has been published or publicly distributed before." It is just gone,
but the other two options, such as the multiple objects checkbox, are still
there. My custom submission process works fine, and it isn't a big modification
of input-forms.xml at all. However, I don't even see how someone can modify the
first checkbox screen of the submission process; it doesn't even appear to
changeable in input-forms.xml.

Does anyone know why I'm not seeing the "The item has been published or
publicly distributed before" checkbox option on the first screen of my
customized submission process?

Is there some way to enable or disable checkboxes on that first screen that I'm
not seeing?

Thanks in advance for the help!
