Hello List,

I'm running dspace 1.5 rev 3007.

There seems to be a problem storing utf8 chars.

Sometimes "æøå" is stored as "æøå" in the database.

By looking in the tables I came up with this

Tables where utf8 stored correctly :

 - metadatafieldregistry
 - collection

Tables where ut8f is stored wrong :

 - eperson
 - metadatavalue

Strange thing when adding a new metafield :

If you enter something in scope_note and press "Add new metadata field",
"æøå" will appear as "æøå" in the textarea. But it is stored correctly in
the database.

If you click on a stored metafield, "æøå" will show as "æøå" in textarea.

I have followed the installation instructions and configured tomcat and db
with utf8.

If it was configured wrongly, I guess I would have utf8 problems everywhere
and not just in some areas.

Regards,
Klaus
