I've been using LDAP auth in my 1.4 repository, and now I'm playing with it in 1.5.1. It works pretty much the same, except now the administrator account tries (and of course, fails) to authenticate using LDAP. If I stack password auth on top of LDAP auth, then it gives me a choice on which method to use, but I don't want that.
