DSpace registration sends out an email which contains a confirmation URL. It appears that while attempting this, DSpace identified itself to your message transfer agent using a short-form name rather than a fully-qualified domain name, and the MTA is configured to reject such attempts. I would suggest making certain that the host knows its own FQDN, and also check dspace.hostname in 'config/dspace.cfg'. -- Mark H.
