Hi Jochen,

Our DSpace deployments don't start at root URL, hence not having that problem.
Another approach is to do a specific URL unmounting/rewriting for the Shib end
points. Usually you need to instruct Apache *not* to mount it to Tomcat, e.g.:

(This example uses JK, you can easily convert it to mod_proxy)

#everything going to tomcat
JkMount /* ajp13_worker

#exclude shib
JkUnMount /Shibboleth.sso/* ajp13_worker
JkUnMount /shibboleth ajp13_worker
JkUnMount /shibboleth-sp/* ajp13_worker

2nd question: should be easy to mask out self registration page (if other
options not available)

3rd question: should be easy to use targetedID as an identifier, will upload
the patch for it soon (including your suggested modification from awhile back!).

Patch for 1.5.1 + shibboleth is out already (on previous postings), perhaps
DSpace core team can help integrate that into the code? This patch should
address the majority of usage for dspace + shib.

Thanks.

Subject: [Dspace-tech] Shibboleth and tomcat-Root mapping

Hi,

I have some questions about DSpace and Shibboleth.

I try to map the dspace-jspui to the ROOT of the tomcat.
In the apache mod_proxy I map / to localhost:8009.

Now I have the problem, that the Shibboleth endpoint can not be found.

How do you manage it? Did you use /jspui as start URL?

Second question:
Can I switch of the self-registration using jspui?
I only want to give people access, who use Shibboleth.

Third question:
Can I use a targetedID instead of the mail-address for Shibboleth?
But how can I add the email address direct in DSpace when using shibboleth?

and last question ;-)
When will be the shibboleth patch for DSpace 1.5.1 available?

Greetings

Jochen
