Hmm, I wonder why that was. It is possible that it only works with GNU tar.
That's just a guess on my part. I have seen other open source distros that
require unpacking using GNU tar. Most (if not all) proprietary UNIX tar
commands don't work as you would expect when the archive contains long
filenames or deeply nested structures. GNU fixes this. What that the
problem?
