The first place is to investigate dspace.cfg, where many options are defined there.
The second place is using the admin UI to redefine news. The third place is the layout directory under webapp. Edit or replace files there will give you a new layout. The rest is to customize any jsp, image files, css, javascripts, etc under webapps and sub-directories as needed. It is a long way to go. Allen Lam.
