Hi Alice,

Kim Shepherd has documented this in a Manakin HOWTO
(http://wiki.dspace.org/index.php/Category:ManakinHOWTO
<http://wiki.dspace.org/index.php/Category:ManakinHOWTO> ) at:

http://wiki.dspace.org/index.php/Rendering_line_breaks_in_item_metadata_(Manakin)

<http://wiki.dspace.org/index.php/Rendering_line_breaks_in_item_metadata_(Manakin)>

There is a slowly growing collection of useful HOWTOs relating to Manakin on
the wiki now. If anyone else has any more, please add them! :)

Thanks,

Subject: [Dspace-tech] separate paragraphs in text areas?

Hello,

We are installing DSpace 1.5.1 with the XML (Manakin) interface. Last week at
the DSpace workshop in Massachusetts, someone pointed out that when submitting
an item, it is not possible to have multiple paragraphs in the textarea fields,
such as the Abstract. This will definitely be an annoying problem for us and
for many others.

Has anyone figured out a way to get around this problem? I did try using an
html paragraph tag, but the tag was just displayed with the rest of the text.

Thanks!
