Sometimes I run a script that updates the metadatavalue table, afterterwards I
run index-init. When I do this I bring down our instance of dspace, because
the one time I tried running index-init with our instance up, I got a whole
bunch of database errors and I believe index-init stopped running ( can't be
100% certain, since it's been a while), so I never felt it was safe to run
index-init with my instance up.

Having said this, I'm wondering if there is some way to run index-init run and
have my instance up at the same time. It takes between 1.5 and 2 hours for
index init to complete and so this is a lot of down time for our users. I have
1.5.2 installed.

Many thanks!
Jose
