Dear Maha, within DSpace, it's possible to configure IP based authentication. If your users are accessing DSpace from a certain IP range, DSpace can determine specific authentications and authorizations from that IP. As an alternative, you could also integrate an existing single-sign on infrastructure (like LDAP-CAS or Shibboleth), to authenticate your users in DSpace.
Concerning Image collections, I could really recommend our Image Zoom Module. @mire developed this commercial module for DSpace, to give zoom and panning access to images. At the same time, it's possible to restrict the download access of the high-res image files, to your users. More information on the module: http://atmire.com/zoomable.php A live installation of the module is available on our 1.5 DSpace repository, @mire labs: http://atmire.com/labs I hope this helps ! with kindest regards, Bram Luyten @mire - http://www.atmire.com Technologielaan 9 - 3001 Heverlee - Belgium 533 2nd Street - Encinitas, CA 92024 - USA http://www.togather.eu - Before getting together, get t...@ther On Tue, Jan 12, 2010 at 8:15 AM, Maha El Koshairi <[email protected]> wrote: > Hello, > > We are exploring ways of restricting certain items in a record to only > users within our university.
