Hello Scott,

you can see the supported OAI metadata formats with:
http://image-projects-test.lib.ed.ac.uk/oai/request?verb=ListMetadataFormats

At the moment your DSpace instance supports the default schemata supplied by DSpace (pre 1.6, 1.6 includes ore):
mets
oai_dc
rdf

In order to provide cld as an own metadata format or incorporate cld fields into an existing format, you got to create a new crosswalk or change the existing ones. The metadata formats for OAI-PMH and the formats in the DSpace registry are not the same, i.e. creating a new metadata schema in a DSpace instance will not change the metadata formats exposed via OAI-PMH.

You'll find the information in the documentation and the wiki:
http://wiki.dspace.org/index.php/CrosswalkPlugins
http://wiki.dspace.org/index.php/XsltCrosswalk

Hope that helps

Hi folks

In my DSpace instance, I have the standard dc schema, and an
'overflow' schema called 'cld'.

If I test getRecord harvesting using 'metadataPrefix=mets' the dc
fields and the bitstream come back, but the cld fields do not. If I
do the same test using 'metadataPrefix=cld', here's the error:

http://image-projects-test.lib.ed.ac.uk/oai/request?verb=GetRecord&identifier=oai:repo-test.lib.ed.ac.uk:1234567832/9&metadataPrefix=cld

 <OAI-PMH xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.openarchives.org/OAI/2.0/
http://www.openarchives.org/OAI/2.0/OAI-PMH.xsd";>
<responseDate>2010-03-30T13:51:44Z</responseDate> − <request
identifier="oai:repo-test.lib.ed.ac.uk:123456789/32"
metadataPrefix="cld" verb="GetRecord">
http://image-projects-test.lib.ed.ac.uk/oai/request </request> −
<error code="cannotDisseminateFormat"> "cld" is not supported by the
item or by the repository </error> </OAI-PMH>

Is there another step within the repository which I have missed? I
set up the schema in the matadata registry, (with namespace
"http://image-projects.lib.ed.ac.uk.cld";). My repository is
http://image-projects-test.lib.ed.ac.uk.

Cheers
