Dale, No changes are necessary. The link to the new statistics pages shows as a option on the menu and is resolvable via the following URI path relative to the Item.
http://demo.dspace.org/xmlui/handle/123456789/29/statistics Rendering has nothing to do with DIM-Handler in this case. You may check your dspace.cfg setting to verify if your restricting it to administrator or not.
