Actually, there is very little stuff that is system specific. Instead of cron on unix-like systems, on Windows you would use a thing called something like Scheduled tasks to run a batch job at specified times. Other than that, the database part should be the same and also the assetstore part is just files. Can you think of any other difference that can couse you problems? The manual can be amended to address those. P.S. I'm adding dspace-tech back to CC so other peple having the same issue in future can find the information.
