Our college have digital repository types different from what supported by
dspace (that is, different from animation, Article, Book, Book chapter,
Dataset, Learning Object, Image, Image 3-D, Map, Musical Score, Plan or
blueprint, Preprint, Presentation, Recording, acoustical, Recording, musical,
Recording, oral, Software, Technical Report, Thesis, Video, Working Paper and
other).
Some of types don't be used by us, some have different names(and, by the
way, we have different language, not English), and others have to be added. We
also want the items can be browsered by the “types”.
To achieve this, I think I have to modify input-forms.xml,
itemsubmission.xml, the themes and the aspects. Above all, I'd like the
modification I will make be seperated from the source code of dspace as much as
possible. Thus, the changes I have made can be easilly adapted to be updated to
dspace 1.7 when it appears.
Before I dive into coding, I'd like get some specific advices about the
steps.
I'm using Manakin of dspace 1.6.2.
Any advice is appreciated!
