Tomcat may be binding to your IPv6 address instead of your IPv4
(xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) address.
If this is the case, you can force it to bind to your IPv4 address by
explicitly setting it in Tomcat's server.xml file:
<Connector port="8080" maxHttpHeaderSize="8192" address="xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx"
maxThreads="150" minSpareThreads="25" maxSpareThreads="75"
enableLookups="false" redirectPort="8443" acceptCount="100"
connectionTimeout="20000" disableUploadTimeout="true" />
(replace your IP address as appropriate)
