I found out that the error was being generated because the server permissions
on files in the /search directory were not sufficiently lax enough to allow
access. I changed the permissions and voila, the search functions now work.

Subject: [Dspace-tech] Search function seems to be completely down on a new
install.
It's my first message to the list, so please be gentle.
I am working on getting a new instance of Dspace up and running at my
institution and everything, including the transfer of records from an old
instance, had gone quite smoothly until recently. I have noticed that I am
unable to get any sort of search page to work. I'm going to include the full
error reports (as attachments) that are generated whenever one clicks on the
"Advanced Search" link and whenever one performs a basic search. I checked
dspace.log and the following errors came up a number of different times:

If you need any more information, please ask away. I've been throwing
everything I can at this and I have no idea what's going on.
