Andrea - You might want to talk to Bill Ingram here at Illinois - [email protected]. He implemented this for working papers - see https://www.ideals.illinois.edu/handle/2142/3520 for an example (Browse by Series/Report). I can't speak to how ugly a hack this was though - he could!

Hi all, recently I've come across several cases where it would be really useful to set up browse indexes that work only for specific communities/collections. For example, a "browse by number in series" option for a collection of working papers or a "browse by supervisor" option for a collection of theses. These browse options shouldn't be shown in the repository-wide list of browse options, nor in the list of browse options for collections that don't need these indexes. Am I right to assume that this isn't currently possible in DSpace? I'm about to hack something together that will fit my needs -- but from what I can see at the moment this needs to be a reasonably ugly hack. Or am I missing something? cheers, Andrea -- Andrea Schweer IRR Technical Specialist, ITS Information Systems The University of Waikato, Hamilton, New Zealand ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Index, Search & Analyze Logs and other IT data in Real-Time with Splunk Collect, index and harness all the fast moving IT data generated by your applications, servers and devices whether physical, virtual or in the cloud.
