I found that there is a command line utility to check this, i.e.

[DSpace]/bin/dspace test-email

After running this command, I got these:
--------------------------------------------------------------
About to send test email:
  - To: [email protected]
  - Subject: DSpace test email
  - Server: smtp.psu.ac.th

Email sent
successfully!
--------------------------------------------------------------

I then check /var/log/mail.log and found no record that DSpace sent out
any email, and of course there is no email in my mailbox.

I am running 1.6.2, in Ubuntu 10.04.2

Any suggestion?
