Hi Caroline, There is nothing to worry about in regards to Harvesters. Harvesters have to obey the same access restriction rules as a normal DSpace user.
So, when an item is embargoed in DSpace, its bitstreams cannot be accessed by harvesters nor normal web users. That is the main purpose of the embargo feature, to make the bitstream inaccessible to anyone or anything (the only exception being Administrative Users) until a particular date has passed. - Tim -- Tim Donohue Technical Lead for DSpace Project DuraSpace.org On 6/10/2011 5:49 AM, Caroline Karregård wrote: > A researcher at our university is worried about the embargo function and > whether or not it is possible for harvesters to get hold of the files > even though they are locked away and should be safe until the embargo is > lifted.
