What you refer to as "full" is an item index.
In dspace.cfg there is a section Browse Configuration:
a metadata index has the form
webui.browse.index.<n> = <index name> : metadata : <schema
prefix>.<element>[.<qualifier>|.*] : (date | title | text) : (asc |
desc)
an item index has the form
webui.browse.index.<n> = <index name> : item : <sort option name> :
(asc
| desc)
After having changed the browse configuration you got to stop your
instance, run [dspace]/bin/dspace index-init and restart it.
