This shouldn't happen. In which directory are you running mvn package? For the source distribution, this should (in 1.7.2) be run in the dspace subdirectory, *not* the top-level directory. Though I just did a trial build from the top-level directory and my target/dspace1.7.2-build.dir/webapps/ looks fine: $ ls [dspace-src]/dspace/target/dspace-1.7.2-build.dir/webapps/ jspui lni oai solr sword xmlui What's your maven version?
