I had the same issue discussed in

I managed to resolve it temporarily by downgrading Tomcat to version 7.0.11

Hi I'm having the same problem with Chrome, I insert the correct pair of e-mail
and password but it doesn't show any error or evidency of succesful login. I
have installed the latest version 1.7.2 of DSpace, and Tomcat 7.0.14. Thanks.
