If the problem persists even after you have run itemcounter or disabled collection strength caching, you may still be getting cached entire page from Cocoon. In that case, log in as administrator and clear Cocoon cache (this works since 1.8.0, in previous versions you have to stop Tomcat, delete Tomcat's "Catalina/localhost/_/cache-dir" directory and restart Tomcat).
