Hi Clive,

You said that you deleted the item through the interface, and then the 
filesystem.  I'm thinking that this will leave unwanted dross in your database. 
 Deleting items through the interface marks the item as deleted, but leaves the 
record and the file in the filesystem.  There's a 'cleanup' command (as of 
1.6.2, I can't say if it exists in later versions) that will purge both the 
database and the filesystem.  That might be an easier road to take, in order to 
keep the database and assetstore in agreement.
