Apologies for the cross posting.
Dear DSpace Community,
Plans are in the works for a half day DSpace User Group Meeting from 8:30am to
1pm on March 14, 2012 in Kansas City, Missouri, immediately following the SPARC
Open Access Meeting (http://www.arl.org/sparc/meetings/oa12/) on March 11-13.
We are in the process of developing the agenda and recruiting presenters. This
has traditionally been a fairly informal meeting with lots of opportunity for
networking with other DSpace users. In fact, we highly recommend that if
possible you plan to allow time after the session to go to lunch and continue
small group conversations around specific areas of interest.
Plans are still developing, but the meeting will likely include:
- Update on 1.8.1 and beyond
- Innovative uses of DSpace - call for proposals from the community*
- Structured networking session -- find people or projects of interest to you
If you have specific suggestions for other content (presentations, tutorials,
discussions, etc.) to include in the meeting please feel free to email me at
[email protected].
Meeting Registration
The meeting is being sponsored by the DuraSpace organization and @mire, a
Registered DSpace Service Provider. The event It is free for anyone who wishes
to participate. For planning purposes, please send an email with your name and
institution to [email protected] March 1.
*Call for Proposals
We are currently seeking presentation proposals from members of the community
with innovative DSpace projects at their institutions. Proposals should be sent
to [email protected] by February 7. Acceptance notification will be sent
by February 9.
I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in March!
