Hello,

I did not receive any responses on DSpace-Gen, so I thought I would repeat my
two metadata questions here:

First, for dc.language.iso, is it better to use ISO 639-1 or ISO 636-2? The
vast majority of the documents I am describing are in English with other
languages represented rarely.

Second, for dc.date.issued, is there a best practice for formatting dates? As I
have been harvesting most of my metadata from PubMed records, I had been using
the MEDLINE format (4-digit year, a 3-character abbreviated month, and a 1 or
2-digit day). Is there an advantage to using ISO 8601 (YYYY-MM-DD)? Will the
format affect using the date as a facet in Discovery?

Sincerely,
David
