I should have also mentioned that in either version (Full Source Release 
or Binary Release), the messages.xml file can also be found in your 
final built XMLUI webapp:

[dspace]/webapps/xmlui/i18n/messages.xml

(Where [dspace] is the location where DSpace is installed)
