Hi all

I am having difficulties enabling searching on
dc.description.provenance. The documentation implies that the provenance
fields contain email addresses and should not be displayed, but does
this mean that I cannot search on them?

I am running DSpace version 1.7.2 and using Discovery for searching.

I have added a new dc metadata element for testing purposes called
dc.description.librarian

I have added 2 search indexes in dspace.cfg for both of these elements,
as in

search.index.13 = provenance:dc.description.provenance
search.index.14 = librarian:dc.description.librarian

I have added both fields in the dspace-solr-search.cfg as in
solr.search.filters=dc.title, dc.contributor.author, dc.subject,
dc.date.issued.year, dc.description.provenance, dc.description.librarian

I then took a specific item and added specific metadata to both of these
elements namely "abcdef" in the librarian field and "ghijk" in a new
provenance field.

I then restarted tomcat and rebuilt the indexes

./dspace index -r -f
./dspace update-discovery-index -b -f

Doing a full text search on abcdef returns the item perfectly, but
searching on ghijk returns 0 results, which tells me that provenance is
not being indexed.

Is there a way to make the provenance fields searchable?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Regards.
