Folks -

We have a collection of newspapers at the library I work at that are under
copyright until they are 75 years old. I would like to use the embargo
system to automatically make them available as their publish date becomes
old enough. The instructions in the documentation are a little less than
what I need to understand what needs to be done. I have added a
dc.embargo.publicreleasedate to the metadata schema, and have added that
field to dspace.conf, like so:

embargo.field.terms = dc.embargo.publicreleasedate
embargo.field.lift = dc.embargo.publicreleasedate

Now what? I understand I have to run 'dspace embargo-lifter' from cron on a
daily basis. What do I put in the fields to make it work? Not only would I
like the papers to be date limited, but I also need to limit by network -
all the papers (any date) need to all be available to my staff network, but
need to be date limited to any other network.

And - is it correct that embargo cannot be changed on an item once it's
been submitted? I thought that's how I read the documentation. I have over
65,000 newspapers in the system now, and it took weeks of batch importing
to put them there. Please don't tell me I have to start over from scratch!
What postgre table/field holds the embargo data?

Can embargo even do what I want it to?

Thanks -
