Hi,

and thanks Ivan! I will take a look at your suggested alternatives tomorrow!

We have a harvesting partner that require us to put a value inside the
SetSpec-tag, different from the handle number which is normally in the
SetSpec-tag in the item header. As the harvester will use the first SetSpec
value it finds, a way to "solve" this would be to output their required
SetSpec-tag before the original SetSpec-tag with the handle number.

I can't really argue about their requirement, I just have to find a solution
that meets it.

/Jacob

Hi Jacob,

more properly, what do you want to do?

Changing the OAI-PMH headers is not advisable, one could degenerate into an
invalid OAI interface.

Hi Jacob,

the header generation is buried in the OAICat library [1] which DSpace

uses for this. It's not a simple XSLT transformation there, you would

need to modify some Java code of OAICat, rebuild OAICat, update the

oaicat dependency in DSpace and rebuild DSpace.

However, there's now OAI 2.0 based on the XOAI library, which will

most likely replace the old "oai" webapp in DSpace 3.0. OAI 2.0 can do

this simply by an XSLT transformation. You can also get it as an addon

for DSpace 1.8 [2], which you can deploy on your existing DSpace

instance, even side-by-side with the old "oai". For more details, see

[3].

So let us know which route you decide to take and if you need any more help.
