Hi, Karen, it's possible you are seeing old Cocoon cache files. In DSpace
1.8 you can clear the Cocoon cache by navigating to the Java Control Panel
(yourdomain.edu/xmlui/admin/panel?java) and clicking on the "Clear Cache
Immediately" link.

Or, if you're feeling old-school, you can just delete the cache files
manually. Bring down Tomcat, then run

rm $CATALINA_HOME/work/Catalina/localhost/xmlui/cache-dir/cocoon-ehcache.*

You'll likely need to do that as root, or as the tomcat user.

Bring tomcat back up, of course. :-)

you would like to see are just off the Map and many things you want to
know are just out of sight or a little beyond your reach. But someday
you'll reach them after all, for what you learn today, for no reason at
all, will help you discover all the wonderful secrets of tomorrow."
