I'm sorry to inform you that DSpace currently doesn't contain this functionality out-of-the-box, the only way is adjusting your browser settings. We are going to add this function in the future. However, there have been two separate patches submitted adding this functionality: https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-332 https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-842 You can use either of them (I'd take a look at the second one). It's likely they will need some minor adjustments to work with 1.8 because they were designed for previous versions.
