Hi Stuart,

you're mentioning names of particular websites. It would be far more
useful if you mentioned the software they're running and possibly its
version. It looks like researcharchive runs DSpace. DSpace has several
options for data export, the most commonly useful being OAI-PMH. So it
depends on the target project whether it accepts harvesting via
OAI-PMH (many programs do).

If you decide to go with OAI-PMH, I suggest you replace the default
OAI webapp in DSpace 1.8.2 with this addon:
http://www.lyncode.com/dspace/addons/xoai/
It's much better and it replaced the oai webapp in DSpace 3.0, so it
will save you trouble with upgrading in a few months.
