Sounds right, to verify if the files are present where they should be,
IOW to verify file names and location.

The second step would be, as I suggested, to verify if the file
contents is actually what it should be by comparing it to the
checksum.

But you're right with doing the name/location check first, because
then you should just be able to run the "[dspace]/bin/dspace checker"
script to check the checksums.
