Hello everyone!

Solr has gradually become an important part of DSpace and isn't going
away - on the contrary, it's used more and more.

Our Solr documentation doesn't quite live up to that fact. I tried to
gather up what I know on this wiki page:
https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACE/Solr

It should be a valuable resource for anyone who decides to extend and
customize DSpace or integrate it with other systems.

But, alas, it's still missing examples of good queries. Therefore I'm
announcing a mini-document-a-thon (yes, I just made that up). There
are 2 goals:
1) gather a list of suggestions what useful information Solr can give
us from the data it has (different "top 10" statistics, data-mining,
statistics of types of stored items, filter queries; you name it - the
more inventive the better)
2) construct the actual queries

You can send your responses either to this thread (goals 1 and 2) or
simply edit the mentioned wiki page (goal 2).

I'm curious how creative the DSpace community is! If you're reading
this, try to think of at least one idea!

Good luck!

Regards,
~~helix84
