I do think dspace-tech is the right list for this. If you want a quick response, it might help if you gave some more information (I realise it can probably found by following your link, but busy people are more likely to respond when all the information needed is right in front of them...) What messages in which log file do you want to suppress? I'd assume that you need to change the log level for the org.apache.solr package hierarchy; if you're talking about the tomcat log files (not dspace log files), you'll most likely have to change the logging configuration for tomcat.
