Hello,
I have recently been working on updating our Dspace server to 1.8.2 and it
has been giving me a few problems. I finally got it working on a test
server (which was a copy of our production server) and I was all set to
upgrade the live server. Then just to be sure everything would work I
recreated the test server so that it was a copy of the live server once
again and initiated the upgrade process (compiled our modified source
release and all that). I was surprised to see many of the same issues that
I had previously fixed arise again.
Some of these issues are simple like changed text on pages (from stuff in
the messages.xml) file while some of them are deeper issues like missing
discovery sidebar facets or the incorrect theme being applied. I have
verified that the changes I made are in the source code I compiled so in my
understanding when I compile those changes should be apparent on the
website.
Does anyone know of anything that might cause this? I can't think of what I
might be doing wrong and its not really feasible to take our live server
down long enough to "manually" iron out the bugs as they become apparent.
