Right, but do consider running both DSpace instances on the same
DSpace code, like I wrote. It should make maintenance easier unless
you plan to deprecate the archive and not update it's DSpace anymore.

I think all repository managers who are trying to ensure even basic
metadata quality can attest to that it takes much more time to get
that right than the technical aspects alone. So by no means you're
