The files in assetstore don't have any extensions. Here's how the assetstore is structured (especially see the example): https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC18/Storage+Layer#StorageLayer-BitstreamStore If you can recover the original filename, it's easy to restore the directory hierarchy based on the first digits of the bitstream name. If you can't recover the filename, it's still possible to reconstruct the filename from data in the database, but it will require some work. Basically you need to run md5sums on all the recovered bitstreams, then look up the MD5 values in the checksum column of the bitstream table and rename them to the value in the internal_id column of the same row. Then you can proceed as above to restore the directory hierarchy. Good luck!
