Hi Carlos, yes, you can restore the 1.8 database followed by running the schema upgrade script database_schema_18-3.sql. You should still loosely follow the upgrading procedure [1]. Of course you need to copy your assetstore. Don't copy over configuration - start with fresh one and customize it as you need. If you're using Solr statistics, don't forget to copy over [dspace]/solr/statistics - it contains your old data. Port over any customizations you might have, but mind the changes in most path names due to [2]. Good luck!
