Hi Helix, no not though a local firewall. The firewall between the DMZ and the Database net. I have now requested the firewall administrative to enable the needed port but I have to test it.

You have to go via firewall to get to localhost? Oh, well. As you probably know, the problem is that you don't have db.username (and others) set in dspace.cfg. Can't you just enable this?
