Just noting this for later experimentation (for myself, really) - it seems database queries/tables can be easily exported as XML from Postgres: http://www.postgresql.org/docs/8.4/interactive/functions-xml.html#FUNCTIONS-XML-MAPPING That would enable a fully XSLT-based solution (e.g. for XMLUI themes).
