I do not have an actual issue currently I just wanted to see if my current
plans to upgrade and migrate our dspace instance are actually feasible.
Currently we are running dspace 1.8.2 which needs to be upgraded to 3.0 and
moved to new server hardware.
My plan currently is to get a new 3.0 instance up and running on the new
hardware with all our modifications but without the data from the original
instance. After the new one is up and running I would then copy over the
asseststore directory and dump the database from the old server. Then I
would run the appropriate sql schema update scripts. Will this work? If it
does work will this also copy/setup all the old users from the old server
onto the new server as well?
