http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-6.0-doc/config/context.html Placing Context elements in server.xml is deprecated by the Tomcat developers. The third bullet in the list under "Introduction" in the above document is what helix84 is talking about. Note that the 'path' attribute is supposed to be ignored for any Context defined outside of server.xml. I recall some Tomcat releases behaving strangely if it is given in any other circumstances.
