It is very likely that you didn't update your theme customizations. You should first verify whether this also happens with the Mirage theme from DSpace 3. Which theme is your theme based on? Secondly, make sure to run [dspace]/bin/dspace update-discovery-index -f to add the highlighting fields to your Solr index.
