Hi Mark, AFAIK, this can't be done out-of-the-box, neither for Lucene nor for Solr (you didn't specify which one).
It can be done by writing a curation task and perhaps even invoking it as a workflow step. But perhaps there's another way where this is not necessary - what is your overall workflow, which submission/import method are you using and why do you think you need to index one collection?
