You probably know this, just to make sure - there should be a handle where the null is. E.g.: oai:deepblue.lib.umich.edu:123456789/123
So either you didn't have a handle.prefix configured when you ran the import, or something is not right with your handles. Do the nulls show up for all items in the repository or just some? You may want to look at the handle table to see if any of your items have a null handle.
