Hi Atmire
If you did this to create the DSpace user account:
http://wiki.lib.sun.ac.za/index.php/SUNScholar/Install_Ubuntu/S03/DSpace_User
Then the path to the DSpace account should be /home/dspace not
/home/dspace/dspace.

For your second problem, check that PostgreSQL was properly installed, see:
http://wiki.lib.sun.ac.za/index.php/SUNScholar/Prepare_Ubuntu/S06
Then check for proper settings in dspace.cfg, see:
http://wiki.lib.sun.ac.za/index.php/SUNScholar/Install_Dspace/S04#Database
