Hi, Everyone:
I think I know what happened with the so called "bad handle" that I wrote about
(below).
I checked the handle table in DSpace and I found the handle, but there was no
resource_id associated with it.
This indicates to me that the item was deleted.
I see in the DSpace logs that a number of items were deleted by one of our Sys
Admins after this item was submitted.
Unfortunately, these deletes are listed in the logs by item_id.
I "think" I'm out of luck tracking this further, but if I am wrong, please let
me know.

Subject: [Dspace-tech] Strange error - bad handle sent
Hi...
I had a submitter contact me about something I have never seen in the 10 years
that I have been working on DSpace.
First off, I am using DSpace 1.8.2 using the JSPUI (LINUX).
The user submitted an item and received an email with the handle, but it was
wrong!
I checked and the handle does not exist AND not only that the item he submitted
does not exist.
I checked the DSpace logs and the handle logs at the time he did the submission
and saw no error or anything suspicious.
Has anyone encountered this before? This one has me stumped.
