Resolved by adding StringEscapeUtils.unescapeHtml
from org.apache.commons.lang to MetadataValue Class's getValue method.

StringEscapeUtils.unescapeHtml converts the HTML entities Unicode
characters and stores them in the db. No XSS problem either.
